Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

1. Purpose and Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) outlines the acceptable and prohibited uses of AppHosting.co.za services. Our goal is to ensure the security, reliability, and privacy of the platform for all clients. By utilizing our services, you agree to comply with this policy.

2. Illegal & Harmful Content

Clients may not use our services to host, distribute, or link to any content that violates the laws of the Republic of South Africa or any applicable international law.

Prohibited material includes, but is not limited to, content that is fraudulent, defamatory, distributes malware or ransomware, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.

3. Network & Email Abuse

ZERO TOLERANCE: We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy against network abuse and unsolicited bulk email (SPAM).

Spam: Any container found acting as an open relay, spam gateway, or participating in the distribution of unsolicited email will be suspended immediately to protect our IP block reputation.

Network Attacks: We strictly prohibit port scanning, participation in Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, packet spoofing, or any unauthorized attempts to access third-party systems or networks.

4. System Resource Abuse

While our containers are isolated, excessive sustained abuse of the underlying host resources is prohibited. Operations that degrade the performance of the shared host node impact all clients and will not be tolerated.

EXPLICIT BAN: Cryptocurrency mining (e.g., Chia, Bitcoin, Monero) is strictly forbidden across all tiers.

Any detection of cryptocurrency mining or similar sustained high-intensity compute abuse will result in immediate termination of the container without refund.

5. Enforcement & Suspension

AppHosting.co.za, in coordination with Data Sanctuary security protocols, actively monitors network traffic anomalies—though we do not monitor the internal contents of your container—to enforce this AUP.

We reserve the right to suspend, filter, or terminate any service without prior notice if a severe violation is detected. Our priority is the safety and stability of the entire platform.

6. Reporting Violations

If you suspect a violation of this AUP, including network abuse or copyright infringement originating from our IP space, please contact our abuse team immediately.
